What a complete kitchen remodel includes

What a complete kitchen remodel includes

A kitchen remodel touches walls, services, cabinetry, surfaces and light at the same time. Most projects split that across a designer, a cabinet supplier and a contractor, and the gaps between them are where budgets and schedules break. We run all of it as one project, with one team.

Layout and space planning

We start with the room, not a catalog. Walls, windows, plumbing and circulation are resolved on paper before any material is chosen.

Custom German cabinetry

Every unit is built to order in Germany to your dimensions, sized to the plan rather than the plan bent around stock widths.

Countertops, backsplash, lighting and appliances

Silestone, Dekton or Cambria countertops, Porcelanosa tile, lighting and hardware are selected together, and your appliances are placed in the drawing so clearances and extraction are right the first time.

Construction and installation

Demolition, electrical and plumbing, structural work where needed, permits where the project needs them, and the installation of every element, carried out by the same team that drew the plan.

Custom German cabinetry, inside the remodel

Custom German cabinetry, inside the remodel

Our cabinetry is Nolte, made to order in Germany and specified around your plan. On a remodel it arrives as one part of a resolved room, not as the thing the room is built around. Every carcase is made to your measurements, so cabinetry meets a ceiling, a window or an out-of-square wall cleanly. If cabinetry alone is what you need, that is a different project, and it has its own page.

Small kitchens, galley kitchens and open plans

Small and galley kitchens

Small footprints and out-of-square walls are normal in older DC and Old Town homes. Storage is planned to the inch, and cabinetry built to order means no filler panels where a stock width does not fit.

Opening the plan

When a wall comes down to join the kitchen to the living space, the structure, the services and the permit are part of the design, not a surprise on site.

Islands and layouts that work

An island, a peninsula or a galley run is decided by clearances and how the room is used, and shown in 3D before anything is ordered.

Your kitchen in 3D before anything is ordered

We measure first, then design in 3D, so you approve the kitchen in your own room before anything is ordered. Cabinetry is built to order and cannot be returned, so the design is settled on screen.

  • Elevations that show proportion, sightlines and clearances

A complete remodel, or cabinetry only?

A complete remodel, or cabinetry only?

Both start with the same design conversation. The difference is how much of the room changes.

A full kitchen design and build

Walls move, services relocate, permits are handled, and construction is part of the scope. One team carries the project from the first plan to the final fit.

The walls and services stay where they are. We design, supply and install the cabinetry, countertops and hardware, or supply them to your contractor. See custom kitchen cabinets

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Northern Virginia?

In 2026 our completed kitchen projects ran from $42,000 to $190,000 and up, with most between $90,000 and $145,000. Those are total installed values, not cabinetry prices; cabinetry alone starts at $15,000. Every project is itemized, so you can see what each part costs and what moves the number.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

From the day you sign, most kitchens take about five months: 2 to 4 weeks to settle the last details, then 16 weeks for production in Germany, shipping, installation and the tile work. Demolition waits until about a month before the cabinetry arrives, so you keep your kitchen while the new one is being built.

What is the design consultation?

A complimentary session with a designer at the Alexandria showroom. There is no fixed end; most run two to three hours, and you leave with a direction for the kitchen.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. When walls, plumbing or electrical work change, we handle the permits and approvals in Virginia, Maryland and DC as part of the project. Many kitchens need none, and we tell you which yours is.

Can I live in the house during the work?

Yes. Demolition waits until about a month before the cabinetry arrives, so you keep your kitchen for most of the project, and the site phase is sequenced into defined weeks we agree with you in advance.

Do you specialize in European cabinets?

Yes. Our kitchen cabinetry is German and built to order. Design directions can be Italian-inspired, but the cabinetry itself is made in Germany.

What is the difference between German and Italian kitchens?

German kitchens prioritize engineered precision: ergonomic planning, durable carcasses and clean, minimal fronts. Italian kitchens lean toward expressive design and avant-garde finishes. We build German kitchens and offer Italian-inspired design directions.

Do you work in McLean, Arlington, Bethesda and Washington, DC?

Yes. Completed kitchens include Chantilly, Arlington and Annandale in Virginia; Bethesda, Potomac and Fort Washington in Maryland; and Washington, DC. See the projects page for each one.

What does a full remodel include?

Design, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, construction, delivery and installation, coordinated by one team. In 2026 our completed kitchen projects ran from $42,000 to $190,000 and up, with most between $90,000 and $145,000. Those are total installed project values, not cabinetry prices, and cabinetry alone starts at the published tiers. Our guide to what custom cabinets cost in Northern Virginia breaks the numbers down.

Can I buy cabinets without a full remodel?

Yes. If you have your own contractor, we design and supply the cabinetry and can install it or hand it over. In-house installation is our first choice, not a requirement.
