3D Cabinet Design
Layout, elevations, proportions, and finishes come back as photorealistic 3D so you approve the cabinetry on screen before anything is committed.
Specification and Quote
Every carcase, front, countertop, handle, and internal system is itemized, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and adjust before release.
Built to Order in Germany
The approved specification goes into production in Germany, made to your dimensions, with a delivery date you can plan the rest of the project around.
Measurement and Fit
The same team that designed the cabinetry checks the site and installs it, so nothing is lost in a handoff between the drawing and the tools.
Timeline for a complete kitchen
From the day you sign, most kitchens take about five months.

- 16 weeks for production in Germany, shipping, installation and the tile work.
Demolition waits until about a month before the cabinetry arrives, so you keep your kitchen while the new one is being built.

What makes kitchen cabinets truly custom?
Custom means the cabinetry is planned and manufactured for your room rather than assembled from stock sizes. Carcase widths, heights, and depths are set to your walls and ceilings, interiors are planned around what you actually store, and the fronts, finishes, and hardware are specified rather than picked from a short menu. Nothing is trimmed with filler panels to cover a gap.
How much do custom kitchen cabinets cost in Northern Virginia?
As a planning guide, cabinetry for a smaller kitchen starts around $15,000, a medium kitchen around $35,000, and a larger kitchen around $55,000. These are cabinetry starting points, not the cost of a complete renovation. Countertops, appliances, and construction work are quoted separately so you can see what each part of the project costs.
What is the difference between custom and semi-custom cabinets?
Semi-custom cabinetry comes in fixed increments, usually three inches, with a limited set of doors and finishes. Custom cabinetry is built to your dimensions with no increment to work around. The practical difference shows up at the edges of the room: at ceilings, around windows, and where cabinetry meets an appliance or an out-of-square wall.
Where are your cabinets made?
Our cabinetry is manufactured in Germany and built to order for each project. German production gives you tighter tolerances, better hinge and drawer engineering, and finishes that hold their color and texture through daily use. Some of the design directions we work in are Italian inspired, but the cabinetry itself is made in Germany.
Can I see and compare the actual cabinets before I order?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Our Alexandria showroom holds full-size cabinet displays, so you can open drawers, test soft-close hardware, compare matte lacquer against real wood grain and metal, and see how finishes read under real light. Photos flatten the differences that matter most.
How long does custom cabinetry take to arrive?
Because every cabinet is built to order in Europe, production and delivery typically run a few months from the point the design is approved and released. You receive a schedule once the design is final, and we plan the rest of the project around that date.
Do you design the cabinetry before I commit?
Yes. Every project includes photorealistic 3D design so you can review layout, proportions, finishes, and storage before anything is ordered. Cabinetry is built to order and cannot be returned, so the design is settled on screen first.
Do I need a full remodel to order custom cabinets?
No. Many clients replace cabinetry within an existing kitchen layout while keeping the plumbing and walls where they are. If your project also involves moving walls, relocating services, or permits, that is a design-build project and we handle it through our kitchen design and build service instead.
Can custom cabinetry match my home's architectural style?
Yes. We work across handleless minimalism, grooved real-wood fronts, metal and glass surfaces, and warmer transitional directions. The starting point is your home, not a catalog, so the cabinetry is specified to sit correctly with your existing architecture, trim, and floors.
Do you handle installation, or do I need my own contractor?
We install. The same team that designs and specifies your cabinetry measures the site and fits it, so there is no handoff between the design and the people holding the tools, and no gap where responsibility gets lost.
Are you a local cabinet maker?
We are the designers. Every kitchen is measured and specified in Alexandria by our own team, then built to order for that room in Germany, where the tolerances and the hinge and drawer engineering are beyond what a local shop can reach. The same team installs it. Cabinet makers near me is the right search; the workshop is just farther away than you expected.
Which cabinet brands do you carry?
Our kitchen cabinetry is Nolte, built to order in Germany. We do not sell stock or semi-custom brands, so if you are comparing KraftMaid, Fabuwood or Forevermark, expect a different product and a different price: cabinetry here starts at $15,000.
Can I choose a custom color?
Lacquer fronts come in a wide palette, from soft-matt neutrals to deep greens and reds, and every finish is on the showroom floor to compare.
What does installation cost?
Installation by our own team is itemized as its own line in your proposal, next to the cabinetry, so you see exactly what it adds. If you have your own contractor, we can supply the cabinetry alone.
