Silestone

Where can I see Silestone and who installs it in Northern Virginia?

Aksesuar Design carries Silestone at its Alexandria showroom and specifies and installs it in kitchen and bathroom projects across Northern Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. You can compare it with Dekton and Cambria in person. Silestone is a Cosentino mineral surface made in Cantoria, Spain.

Kitchens we build with Silestone start with the design-build service.

Spanish Mineral Surfaces by Cosentino

A Surface That Set the Standard

Since its launch in 1990, Silestone has shaped how the world thinks about the kitchen countertop. Produced by Cosentino, the family-owned Spanish group founded in 1979 in Cantoria, Almería, it is a hybrid mineral surface built from premium minerals and recycled materials, finished to a depth of color and consistency that pairs with the most considered interiors.

What distinguishes Silestone today is its reformulation under HybriQ technology, which lowered crystalline silica content and reintroduced the material as a new category of low-silica mineral surface. The result is a countertop with everyday resilience against scratches, stains, and impact, made through a more responsible process.

Aksesuar Design carries Silestone because it answers the question every homeowner asks of a kitchen: will it still look this good in ten years. It is a surface we specify with confidence, in a palette broad enough to anchor a quiet, neutral kitchen or a bolder, sculptural one.

Why we carry it

What sets Silestone apart

HybriQ Low-Silica Technology

Reformulated to reduce crystalline silica, Silestone blends premium minerals with at least 20% recycled material for a more responsible surface.

Built-in Microban Protection

Antimicrobial protection is integrated into every slab during manufacturing, helping keep the surface cleaner between wipes.

Made to Take Real Use

Engineered for resistance to scratches, stains, impact, and thermal shock, it stands up to the demands of a working kitchen.

A Deep, Livable Palette

An extensive range of colors and finishes lets a Silestone countertop set the tone of the room or recede quietly into it.

Good to know

Silestone, answered

Is Silestone the same as quartz?

Silestone began as an engineered quartz surface and has since been reformulated under HybriQ technology into a low-silica mineral surface, blending premium minerals, quartz, and recycled materials. It performs like a high-end quartz countertop with a more responsible composition.

How durable is a Silestone countertop?

Silestone is engineered to resist scratches, stains, and impact, and is backed by a 25-year limited residential warranty. It is a practical choice for kitchens that see daily cooking and entertaining.

Does Silestone need to be sealed?

Unlike natural stone, Silestone is a nonporous engineered surface and does not require sealing. Routine cleaning with mild soap and water is generally all that is needed to keep it looking its best.
