In short

How we work

What a complete kitchen remodel costs here, from the smallest project we completed to the largest, what the figures include, and what moves the number. Every figure on this page comes from kitchens we finished, not from estimates.

The answer

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland?

In 2026 our completed kitchen projects ran from $42,000 to $190,000 and up, with most between $90,000 and $145,000. Those are the total installed values of complete kitchen remodels, including design, custom German cabinetry, countertops, construction and installation, all carried out by our own team. Cabinetry alone starts at $15,000 (small), $35,000 (medium), $55,000 (large). Every proposal is itemized, so you can see what each part costs and what moves the number.

Before you start

Total installed value, or cabinetry price?

Our completed-project figures are total installed values. The cabinetry tiers are cabinetry alone. The two are never the same number.

Before you start

Is it itemized?

Ours is: every carcase, front, countertop, handle, appliance placement, construction item and installation on its own line, so you can see what moves the number.

Before you start

What is not in it?

Appliances are placed in the drawing and priced separately unless the proposal includes them.

Before you start

Does it include construction and permits?

Yes, where the plan needs them: demolition, electrical and plumbing, structural work, and the permits in Virginia, Maryland and DC.

Before you start

How current are the figures?

They are the statistics of the kitchens we completed in 2026, across Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland.

What our completed kitchens cost, by size

These are the total installed values of complete kitchen remodels we finished, presented the way we publish them everywhere on the site. They describe previous work; your own price depends on your space and scope.

Largest projects

$190,000 and up

Open plans, floor-to-ceiling runs, islands, real wood and metal-look fronts, and the structural and services work that comes with them.

The figures

Cabinetry alone

$15,000 for a small kitchen, $35,000 for a medium kitchen and $55,000 for a large one

These figures are for custom cabinetry only. The final price depends on kitchen size, cabinet configuration, materials, internal storage and selected details. Countertops, appliances, construction and installation are priced separately unless included in the proposal.

The cost

What changes the cost of a kitchen remodel

Six things move a kitchen from the smallest figure toward the largest. Each is itemized in the proposal, so you can see what it adds and decide.

What moves the number

The size of the kitchen

Cabinetry alone starts at $15,000 for a small kitchen, $35,000 for a medium kitchen and $55,000 for a large one. The number of carcases is the first thing that moves the price.

What moves the number

Whether walls and services move

Opening the plan adds structural work, electrical and plumbing relocation and a permit. Keeping the layout removes most of that.

What moves the number

Surfaces

Countertops in Silestone, Dekton or Cambria, Porcelanosa tile, lighting and hardware are selected together with the cabinetry, and each choice is itemized.

What moves the number

Fronts and interiors

Handleless flat fronts, grooved real wood, metal-look and glass fronts, soft-matt lacquer, and the interior storage planned around what you keep in the kitchen.

What moves the number

Appliances

Placed in the drawing so clearances and extraction are right. Priced separately unless the proposal includes them.

What moves the number

Installation

Installation by our own team is its own line in the proposal, next to the cabinetry and the surfaces.

Asked often

Asked often

What does a full remodel include?

Design, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, construction, delivery and installation, coordinated by one team. In 2026 our completed kitchen projects ran from $42,000 to $190,000 and up, with most between $90,000 and $145,000. Those are total installed project values, not cabinetry prices, and cabinetry alone starts at the published tiers. Our guide to what custom cabinets cost in Northern Virginia breaks the numbers down.

Asked often

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

From the day you sign, most kitchens take about five months: 2 to 4 weeks to settle the last details, then 16 weeks for production in Germany, shipping, installation and the tile work. Demolition waits until about a month before the cabinetry arrives, so you keep your kitchen while the new one is being built.

Asked often

Can I buy cabinets without a full remodel?

Yes. If you have your own contractor, we design and supply the cabinetry and can install it or hand it over. In-house installation is our first choice, not a requirement.

Asked often

What is the design consultation?

A complimentary session with a designer at the Alexandria showroom. There is no time limit, and you leave with a direction for the kitchen.

Asked often

Do you handle permits?

Yes. When walls, plumbing or electrical work change, we handle the permits and approvals in Virginia, Maryland and DC as part of the project. Many kitchens need none, and we tell you which yours is.
